Some may dismiss it as a passing phase, but pornography’s impact is far-reaching and harmful. Despite claims that porn is harmless entertainment, the truth is starkly different.
Pornography saturates our culture, luring many with its superficial appeal. Yet, beneath its surface lies a darker reality. Through the testimony of those who have experienced its grip, we learn of the profound damage it inflicts on individuals, relationships, and society.
This fall, we invite you to confront this issue head-on. Join us as we delve into the intricacies of God’s design for our bodies contrasted with the distorted messages bombarding the rising generation. Through personal narratives and practical insights, our speakers will shed light on the path to liberation from the clutches of pornography in society. It’s time to face the truth and take meaningful steps towards healing.
Basecamp Pre-event: The Gospel According to Sex
In a world awash with sexual confusion, it is tempting for the church’s voice to simply emphasize biblical boundaries. But behavior modification is rarely effective, and the church’s message is far deeper and richer than rules. In the Scriptures, human sexuality is nothing less than a window into God’s desire to restore all things – including us! In this conversation we’ll traverse from Genesis to Revelation, discovering what sex is actually for in the purposes of God and liberating our hearts to truly desire the beauty of God’s design.

Alycia Wood - Host
Alycia Wood graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College with a degree in Criminal Justice and from Marygrove College with a Master’s in Social Justice. She spent two years as a Fellow with RZIM in New England. Alycia’s speaking background is quite diverse. From universities (such as MIT, UCONN, Harvard, University of Massachusetts, Boston University, Dartmouth College, and Brown University), to retreats, from conferences to men’s and women’s prisons, Alycia has addressed major issues surrounding faith to diverse audiences.
Joshua Broome
Session: Transforming Your Self-Perception through God’s Grace
Joshua Broome, has a radical story of redemption which gives him a unique perspective in today’s culture that God is using in a mighty way. Now over a decade removed from the darkness of being in the pornography industry for 6 years that seemed inescapable but he now shares his story on podcasts, TV shows, and stages worldwide about how he discovered both purpose and lasting freedom in Christ.
Equipped with an education in Christian Ministries from Liberty University, Joshua and his wife Hope have been married for 8 years and live in Dallas, Texas with their four sons. His message is centered on the good news that no matter what you’ve done or what has happened to you nothing can separate you from the love available to you in Jesus.
Trent Langhofer
Dr. Trent Langhofer is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has worked with individuals and families for over a decade. Dr. Langhofer is a sought after conference speaker and teacher. He has lectured nationally and internationally to large audiences on topics that include: adjustment following spiritual conversion, the themes perpetuating marital commitment in conservative protestant couples following infidelity, development of authentic intimacy in relationships, and spiritual growth and development in spiritually mature individuals and families.
Tim Nester
As Senior Director of Communications at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, Tim leads the efforts to spread the word about the movement to end sexual exploitation. Using various content and marketing strategies across the website, email, and social media platforms, he is responsible for ensuring that the voice of the organization reaches users and inspires them to take action.
Tim received his bachelor’s degree from Cedarville University in Ohio and served as a pastor in full-time ministry for 8 years. For the past 11 years, he has worked in marketing and communications – primarily for non-profit organizations including Focus on the Family. Tim and his wife, Katie, will celebrate 20 years of marriage in November, 2024. They live in Colorado Springs with their 7 kids, including 3 from international and foster care adoptions.
Ken Robertson
Ken Robertson has been the lead pastor at International Anglican Church in Colorado Springs since 2015. He moved to the Springs after serving as an Assistant Pastor at an Anglican church in Denver. Ken’s spiritual influences include his believing parents, the small middle Tennessee Methodist congregation he grew up in, the Presbyterian Church in America, the Navigators Christian ministry, and Denver Seminary.
When he’s not writing sermons or keeping coffee shops afloat with his black tea addiction, he’s reveling in the gift of his family. If he’s not in Colorado Springs, Ken and his family are probably in their pop-up camper somewhere across the western US.
