Publishing Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Director of Publishing and Content
CLASSIFICATION: FT/Non-Exempt
PAY RATE: $19–$28 per hour DOE

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Publishing Coordinator is a dynamic and organized individual responsible for providing essential operational support to the entire Publishing and Content team. This role will help facilitate various projects, keep critical administrative tasks on track, coordinate with other teams, and ensure processes, data, and schedules flow efficiently.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Coordination

  • Facilitate a master project calendar for the Publishing and Content group, ensuring that milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Support the coordination and management of publishing projects, including editing, proofreading, and preparing materials for final production, ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Promote regular communication on project updates, delays, and progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing best practices for project and process management within the publishing group.
  • Help ensure that team workflows are streamlined and that procedures are followed effectively.

Administrative

  • Provide operational and administrative support for publishing, content, curriculum, and distribution functions.
  • Efficiently manage various administrative tasks, including maintaining detailed documentation, organizing, and ensuring up-to-date project and product data for easy team and stakeholder access.
  • Assist the Director of Publishing and Content identifying needs, implementing and streamlining processes to improve team efficiency.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments and external partners, ensuring seamless communication and consistent progress towards Summit’s publishing goals.
  • Assist in gathering data for reports on project performance, including budget tracking and resource allocation.
  • Aid in preparing documentation and presentation materials for meetings and team updates.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelorʼs degree in communications, business, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of administrative or project management experience, ideally within a faith-based
    environment.
  • Familiarity with the Christian publishing industry is helpful.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Primarily in an office environment. May be expected to travel on a limited basis. May be able to perform duties remotely while working in regular communication and collaboration with the team.
